DSCLES Hitting The Headlines !
DSCLES made headlines in the Irish Independent supplement, October 20th, when an interview with Evelyn Lane, Coordinator was carried as part of the feature on the EIQA Q Mark Awards 2016.
This is the tenth year that DSCLES (formerly Canal Local Employment Service) took part in the quality systems audit programme and the third time it has been shortlisted for an award. Speaking during her interview for the feature, Evelyn highlighted the value of being part of a ‘quality system’ at the height of the downturn saying “When a workload increases, it’s very easy for standards to slip; so that’s where a Quality Management System is of vital importance to maintaining the integrity of the service.” Recognising the importance of third-party validation of an organisation’s product or service, to staff and client alike, she said “the staff take great pride in what they do, and they take great pride in the independent recognition that they receive through the Q Mark assessment process.”

Highlighting the work that DSCLES does with people who have been made redundant or who have come from situations of long-term unemployment, Evelyn spoke of the opportunities that the organisation presents to people for (re) training / up-skilling, return to education, CV and interview preparation, self-employment and job-searching.
The company also engages with the business community, state agencies and local large scale development initiatives to maximise potential benefits to the local community, through its Business & Employment Officer, Scott Golden.
DSCLES was not only delighted to be nominated national finalists again, this year, in the Quality Management Systems category but were thrilled when its team member, Michael Barrett won the Recognising Hero’s 2016 national award!
